LEXINGTON SCHOOL COMMITTEE MEETING
Wednesday, April 1, 2009
Cary Hall, Estabrook Hall

Present: Superintendent Paul Ash, School Committee Chair Margaret Coppe, School
Committee Members Rod Cole, Tom Diaz, Jessie Steigerwald, and Mary Ann Stewart. The
minutes were taken by Leora Tec.
The meeting was convened at 6:36 p.m.
I. Call to Order and Welcome (Margaret Coppe)
II. Members’ Reports / Members’ Concerns
Margaret Coppe: The Board of Selectmen will be discussing Article 25, the School
Stabilization fund. Jean Krieger did not think one of us had to be there.
Paul Ash: We hope Article 25 and 30 will be on the same night.
Jessie Steigerwald: Thanks to Dr. Ash for including parents in the principal search process.
III. Superintendent’s Report
The space of the MST program in LHS was adapted to better serve their needs with money
appropriated by Town Meeting. They had an open house yesterday.
III. Discussion
School Committee Liaison Assignments: liaison assignments were discussed.
IV. Motion to recess, to reconvene at Town Meeting at the discretion of the chair (Cole,
Diaz). The motion passed 5-0.
The Committee adjourned at the conclusion of Town Meeting.
