qualified to act in the town affairs, holden on the second day of
April 1827 to act on the articles in the warrant -
Hon. [Honorable] Nathan Chandler Esquire chosen Moderator,
Art. 2. Voted to raise 900 dollars to support free schools
Voted to choose a general committee of three. Voted to add two to sd. [said]
committee. Rev. Charles Briggs, John Muzzey, Samuel Fiske,
Oliver Locke, & William Chandler were chosen
Voted to choose six prudential committee members William Locke Smith
Francis Wyman, David Tuttle, Reuben Reed, Joel Viles and
Col. Samuel Chandler were chosen
Art. 3. Messrs. Samuel Fiske, Samuel Chandler & Oliver Locke
were chosen.
Art. 4. Hon. John Keyes forty five votes for County Treasurer
Art. 5. Voted to have a committee of three to report thereon
the Board of Selectmen were chosen
Art. 6. Referred to the above committee
Art. 7. Voted to refer this article to the Selectmen to report thereon
The moderator then declared this meeting dissolved
At a legal meeting of the inhabitants of the town of Lexington in the
county of Middlesex & Commonwealth of Massachusetts, qualified by the
Constitution to vote for Governor and Lieutenant Governor, holden
on the second day of April, being the first Monday of said month,
in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and twenty seven,
for the purpose of giving in their votes for Governor, Lieutenant Gov.
Senators & Councillors of said commonwealth. The whole number
of votes given in being sorted, counted, recorded, and declaration
thereof made, as by the constitution is directed - and were for the
following persons -

{ Hon Marcus Morton had 50
{ William C. Jarvis had 113
For Lieutenant Gov. His Honour Thomas L. Winthrop had 152
Hon. John Keyes had 152
Hon. Leonard M. Parker 153
Hon. Abel Jewett 153
Hon. Luke Fiske 151
Hon. Benjamin F. Harrison 153
Charles Train - 2
The meeting then dissolved
