HomeMy WebLinkAbout826 Warrant for April 2, 1827 Town Meeting, March 12, 1827To Capt Daniel Chandler, Constable of the town of Lexington, Greetings You are hereby required in the name of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts to notify & warn the inhabitants of the town of Lex who are qualified to vote in the choice of Governor, to assemble at the Meetinghouse in said Lexington on Monday the second day of April next, at one oclock P.M. to give in their votes for Gover- nor, Lieutenant Governor, Senators and Councilors of this Com -monwealth, agreeable to the Constitution thereof. You are also required to notify & warn said inhabitants to as- semble at the Meeting house on said day at two oclock P.M. to act on the following articles viz Art. 1. to choose a Moderator. " 2. to adopt measures for the support of public schools. " 3. to choose Auditors of Accounts. " 4. to give in their votes for a Treasurer for the county of Middlesex " 5. to see if the town will build a Schoolhouse or repair the old one in the South east School district & grant money for the same. " 6. to see if the town will purchase land to place said Schoolhouse upon, & grant money for the same. " 7. to see if the town will widen the Road leading from Sweethan Reed's to Hammond Locke's " 8. to hear reports of committee & act thereon. # Given under our hands at Lexington this 12th day of March 1827 #Hereof fail not and make return of this warrant & your doings therein on or before the time prefixed.
