HomeMy WebLinkAbout821 Letter, Selectmen to Captain Daniel Chandler, Constable, ordering newly elected persons to be sworn in, April 2, 1827To Capt Daniel Chandler Constable of the town Lexington, Greeting, The following is a list of the names of those persons who are chosen into office at a meeting of the inhabitants of said town, holders on the second day of April 1827, of whom an oath is by law required, viz. Jonathan Harrington Jun. Joel Smith, John Munroe 2nd Thomas Tufts, Nathan Reed, Jonas S. Fiske, Sweathen Reed, William Smith 2nd. John Augustus, Samuel Downing, Joseph Fiske jr Francis Bowman. You are hereby required, in the name of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts within three days from the date hereof to notify each and every of the said persons to appear before the Clerk of said town or either of the Justices of the Peace in said town, within seven days from the time you shall give such notice, to take the oath by law prescribed to the offices unto which they are respectively chosen. Hereof fail not & make return of this warrant & your doings. Therein within ten days from the date hereof.
