HomeMy WebLinkAbout2665 Letter, John Keyes to the Selectmen concerning an accident suffered by Captain H.B. Heywood, March 17, 1842Concord Mar 17 1842 Gentlemen, Capt. H. B. Heywood of this town has applied to me to aid him in procuring from your town compensa- tion for damages he sustained in his person and property by reason of a defect in the road near the Fisk place. He was riding from Lexington to Concord on the 5th inst. and when as- cending Fisk Hill there being no railing on the side of the road his horse shied and turned over his chaise down the bank or precipice, and se- riously and perhaps permenantly injured him and did damage to his chaise. I make no doubt from his representation that your town are liable to make good his loss or injury and I request in his behalf your ateention to the subject.
