EXECUTIVE SESSION
September 29, 2009
PRESENT: Chairman Cohen, Mrs. Krieger, Mr. Kelley, Mr. Manz and Mr. Burnell; Mr.
Valente, Town Manager; Ms. Casey, Human Resources Director and Ms. Pease, Executive
Clerk.
ALSO PRESENT: School Committee Members Ms. Coppe, Chair; Mr. Diaz, Mr. Cole, Ms.
Steigerwald Ms. Stewart; and Dr. Ash, School Superintendent.
Upon motion duly made and seconded, it was voted 5-0 by roll call to go into executive session
to discuss of collective bargaining, with no intent to return to open session.
The Board of Selectmen and School Committee met to discuss possible ways to reduce health
insurance costs and strategies for coalition and collective bargaining. The two boards also
discussed thepotential role of theFiscal Task Force in looking at total compensation and how
Lexington can reduce its labor costs.
Upon motion duly made and seconded, it was voted to adjourn at 9:20 p.m.
