EXECUTIVE SESSION
June 22, 2009
PRESENT: Chairman Cohen, Mrs. Krieger, Mr. Kelley, Mr. Manz and Mr. Burnell; Mr.
Valente, Town Manager, and Ms. Chabot, Assistant to the Executive Clerk.
Upon motion duly made and seconded, it was voted 5-0 by roll call to go in to executive session
to discuss the sale of real estate, litigation, and collective bargaining issues, with no intent to
return to open session.
Litigation
Mr. Valente updated the Selectmen on the Cary Library mediation construction project and the
proposed settlement terms. He discussed with the Board the wording in the architect’s request
for a recommendation from the Town. The Board was not supportive of certain wording.
Sale of Real Estate
Mr. Valente discussed the Purchase & Sale Agreement for the Busa property. Town Counsel
and the attorney for the Busa family are continuing to work on title issues related to the property.
Mr. Kelley relayed to the Board discussions with the buyer of the adjoining 2.5-acre parcel.
They do not want to allow access from Farm Road to the property that would be sold to the
Town.
The consensus of the Board was to proceed with forming a committee for the Busa property in
the Fall.
Collective Bargaining
Mr. Valente reported that theEmployee Health InsuranceCoalition has rejected the Town’s most
recent proposal.
Upon motion duly made and seconded, it was voted 5-0 to adjourn at 11:00 p.m.
