EXECUTIVE SESSION
February 9, 2009
PRESENT: Chairman Cohen, Mrs. Krieger, Mr. Kelley, Mr. Manz and Mr. Burnell; Mr.
Valente, Town Manager; and Ms. Pease, Executive Clerk, were present.
Upon motion duly made and seconded, it was voted 5-0 by roll call vote to go into executive
session for a matter of collective bargaining and a real estate transaction.
Also present: Mr. Wolk, Conservation Commission.
Real Estate Transaction
Mr. Wolk updated the Selectmen on the purchasing of the Leary land. The owners and the
Conservation Commission have agreed upon a price. The 14.2 acre piece of land includes a
house that is not inhabitable and LexHAB is not interested in turning it into an affordable unit.
Hopefully CPA funds can be used for conservation and affordable housing. Conservation has a
plan that would carve out a small piece for LexHAB to be used for affordable housing.
Mr. Kelley agreed to talk with LexHAB about options for housing.
Mr. Wolk left the meeting.
Collective Bargaining
Mr. Valente updated the Selectmen on the process of bargaining with the Fire union.
Mr. Valente also updated the Selectmen on aEmployee Health InsuranceCoalition meeting that
was held today and the items they are interested in pursuing to help reduce health costs.
Upon motion duly made and seconded, it was voted to adjourn at 11:35 p.m.
A true record; Attest:
Lynne A. Pease
Executive Clerk
