Muzzey Jur of Lexington in the County of Middlesex
and Commonwealth of Massachusetts, am held and firmly
bound in the sum of six thousand dollars, as principal, and we
John Muzzey Yeoman & Daniel Chandler Gentleman both of
Lexington, as sureties, each in the sum of three thousand dollars
to be paid to Messrs Nathaniel Cutler, Phinehas Lawrence
and Benjamin Reed, Select Men of the Town of Lexington
or their successors in sd. [said] office or to their certain attorney
to which payment well and truly to be made we bind our
selves and heirs, Executors, and administrators firmly by these
presents, seal'd with our seals this 20th day of June
in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred & twenty
two.
The condition of this obligation is such, that whereas
the above bounden John Muzzey Jur. was on the 6th day
of March 1822 chosen a Collector of taxes for the Town of Lexington
and is duly qualified - Now if the sd. John Muzzey Jr. shall
well and truly collect and pay to Daniel Sargeant Esq. Treasr.
of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts or his successor in office and to John Keyes Esq.
Treasr. of the County of Middlesex and account to the Select Men of the
town of Lexington all and severally agreeably to instructions
from the assessors for the Town of Lexington and for which
he shall have sufficient warrants to collect
Then this obligation is to be void and without effect, otherwise
to be of full force and virtue
