Dear Sir :-
Your letter of Septerber 24-thy calling attention to the
dangerous condition of the road over Lincoln street dam) is re-
ceived. The Water Board visited the dam on Wednesday, last , and
the contractor at that time was setting posts preparatory to build-
ing a fenee, and I doubt not has been prosecuting the work steadi-
ly, ever since. I think that within a very short time you will have
no occasion to fear any aac'IA4nt from lack of fence at this place.
