HomeMy WebLinkAbout457 Report of the Committee on the Church Farm Road, 1752We the subscribers being a Committee choose by this Town
at their meeting on march 4th 1750. about a way layed out through
the church farm: & to bedford Line: have accordingly ben upon
sd way: & have Setled it 2 Rods wide from bedford line to farm
meadow: brook so called: the bounds are as followeth (Viz) beginning
at a white oak marked at bedford Line then as willm Grimes wall
now stands untle [until] it comes to a black oak Stump in sd Grimes wall
about five roads [rods]. south easterly from Grimes house thence to a Pine
marked on ye Top of the hill: thence to a stump with stones about it
thence to a Large gray oak marked near ye Line between Grimes &
Trask Land: the [then] Turning Esterly about 2 Rods to a small white oak marked
against Mr Trask Land: thence to a white oak markt so to another
white oakk markt: thence to a Stake & Stones: thence to a White Oak Markt.
thence to ye End of mr. Trasks wall Gowing [going] Down a hill: thence as sd Trask
wall now stands untle it comes to a Stake & Stones a Little over a brook
near hadles [Hadley's] Land: thence to a Stake & Stones in hadles fence: thence
as sd hadles fence now stand untle it comes to the Southerly Corner of
hadles wall: thence to ye Northerly corner of mr Joshua Simonds wall:
thence on sd wall untle it comes to ye southesterly corner of sd simonds
meadow: near farm meadow brook: thence upon mr Joseph Tidds fence
untle it comes to a white Oak with three branches again sd Tidds meadow
we have Likewise agree that the Persons here after named should
have ye greater part of ye other 2 Road [rods] of sd way for ye same
here after spicifyed: (Viz) to mr Joshua Simonds for what he hath
Enclosed L11=S00=D00: & as the way is Now Stated through mr Trask
Land he is to give the Town L36=S00=D00 for theRemainder of sd way
Likewise it is agreed that mr willm grimes should give ye Town
for a little strip of sd way within his wall at ye Northerly End
of his house L01=S00=D00 it is also agreed that mr Nathl Bacon
for what he hath Enclosed: above ye 2 Road [rods] from sd Grimes wall
L03=S00=D00: also it is agreed: yt mr Thomas Hadlee should give
for what Lyeth against him L07=S00=D00: Note all ye above sd
Sumes are to be under stood to be old Tenor

The Committee Choose [chosen] about ye way Laid out about the
Church farm meet march:16:1752 Did then Exchange a
piece of Land with Thomas hadlee to accomadate sd
way which is as followeth: begining at a Stake & Sones at
ye Southestlerly End of sd [said] hadlees wall: thence to a Stake
& Stones: thence to another Stake & Stones noear farm medow
brook: thence across sd brook to a Stake & Stones about
30 feet from ye other Stake & Stones: then Turning Esterly
about 12 feet to a Stake & Stones: thence turning Northerly
acrosse the brook to a Stake & Stones: also Exchanged a Piece
of Land with Joseph Tidd which is as followeth from ye Southerly end of Mr Joshua
as the fence now stands untle it comes a white oak stump with had 3 branches
thence to a white oak Stump in trasks wall so on sd wall untle it comes to
Woburn Road likewise sd Committee have agreed sd way should be 4 Roads wide
on ye Northly side of sd brook begining at ye old bound mark on ye Northerly
side of sd brook thence to ye North end of the wall coming down the hill: on ye Southerly
side of sd brook also sd Committee have agreed to sell to Mrs Lydia Cutlor
ye wife of mr Thomas Cutler of Western[?] all of ye [illegible] road in
sd wall untle it comes to woburn Line exceipt for thirty pounds old Tenor
from ye end of ye wall at ye futt [foot] of farm medow hill except at a spring behind L[illegible]
barn which is as followeth from ye Southerly End of sd
wall to a State about:6:feet within sd fence as
it now Stands so to ye Northerly end of ye wall yt [that]
runs down from ye barn so upon a straight line
from ye northerly End of sd wall to woburn Road
