• In-Town Basketball Leagues (5 '6''° grade. 7--8 grade, High School) are all at capacity.
— currently utilize Clarke and Diamond for weeknight practices and games. Some nights, there are 3-4 teams practicing in a gym
at the same time
— Difficult and safety concerns.
• Youth Basketball Clinics, Harrington, Fiske, and Estabrook are used.
— Harrington is a relatively small gym and can only accommodate two teams at one time.
— Clarke and Diamond are not used; the hoops are not adjustable; lack of storage space at Diamond.
• Adult programs, pickleball, badminton, men's pick-up basketball, and volleyball are all filled to capacity.
• Pickleball (beginner, advanced beginner-intermediate, strong intermediate), generally offered at Diamond 3x week w118
• Badminton is offered lx week at Estabrook (max of 16).
• Men's pick-up basketballis offered lx week at Diamond (max of 20).
• Volleyball is offered 2x week at Estabrook (max of 20 each night). Due to high demand, the Friday night volleyball session was
added for the Winter 2018 season.
• Other indoor after-school program offerings, such as SNAG Golf, futsal, pre-school soccer, archery, and basketball clinics are
growing in popularity and could benefit from an additional gym.
• Our gym use impacts other groups. LYBA has to reserve gym space in Waltham (and possibly other towns) to have ample practices

• OWLL classes -
- many of the courses fill to capacity and have waiting lists. Occasionally classes have been moved offsite to accommodate the
large numbers.
• Ping pong -
- the current 2 tables and room size is not large enough to accommodate the demand. Classes, tournaments and demonstration
games are not possible in the current configuratn.
• Vacation week and summer programming-
- in order to expand and fulfill the needs of parents for full-day childcare programs, additional space is needed, and ideally a
gymnasium for motor breaks. Currently the programs displace regular weekly meetings and fitness classes in order to provide
youth programming during out-of-school time.
• Our most popular senior fitness programs have outgrown the space.
— We need to cap classes at 30 — 40 participants, depending on the class curriculum. This turns away seniors that rely on
affordable, quality health and wellness programming.
• In a typical week, approx. 20 hours of health and wellness programming is scheduled in rooms other than the fitness room. Corn
hole, multiple Yoga classes. Tai Chi for Movement Disorders, LABBB yoga, Stretch and Bend, Cycling, and Fencing to name a few.
• While our core programming is priority, the increase of demand for public meeting space continues to grow. The groups that have
come to rely on meeting space are finding it increasing difficult to find availability.
• As R&CP and Human Services programming continues to grow, youth & senior populations continue to grow, we may need to re-
evaluate our ability to grant space to our partner groups.
