V. Discussion
• Expectations for snow days/unexpected school cancellations tied to HW,classwork, and
assessments
o School and homework on missed school days due to snow days or other events are
treated differently by different teachers.
o Need to clarify the expectation on communication about work due after a missed
school day—regarding emails or posting on the class website
o Need to consider when it is appropriate to assign make-up work—before dismissal if
a snow day is possible or during the day by email/website posting.
• How snow days are addressed in school calendar—
Consider adding missed days to the end of the quarter versus the end of the school year.
• Grade Level Assets—Continue to encourage using Grade Level Assets and finding
meaningful ways to integrate these in the classroom.
• Principal communication to parents, school, staff—recommend sending out on Fridays
instead of Sundays.
