Lexington Youth Commission
Minutes of the meeting held on Thursday, March 15,^, 2018
Members Present: Jack Mitchell, Bess Lawrence, Anthony Marbardy, Charles Marbardy,
Rebecca Wilkinson, Katie Devine, Jimmy Lane, Patrick Kridarahkorn, Katherine Gehring, Zoe
Toulmin, Cate Swan, Millie Landis, Michael Swift, Nicholas Newton-Chen, Myles Cutler, Hadar
Boker, Emma Donigan, Ishaan Khurana, Courtney Walsh, Ganga Nair, Mehr Khurana, Venuri
DeSilva, Annika Richter, Meghan Buschini, Shannon De Guglielmo, Kristina Hankins, and Deb
Hankins.
Members Absent: Will Thomas, Lucas DiCerbo, Courtney Campbell, Rachel Harvey,
Nachiyappan Solaiyappan, Karen Duperey, James Athens, Avery Gehring, Sean Maloney, Joe
Hankins, Annie Reilly, Maria Schapfel, and Erin Cesmeli.
1. The February minutes were read and approved.
2. We debriefed the Valentine's Day Senior Luncheon which took place on February 15th.
Overall, the event seemed to go very well. There was great participation and splitting the
LYC members into two groups helped make everything run smoothly.
3. We discussed the Cotting School Book Drive as well as out upcoming visit. The Book
Drive boxes are still out and we have many donations so far. The Cotting School visit is
scheduled for April 13th, and should run from about 9:30 to 11:30am. As of now, those
who've said they can attend are Will, Jack, Bess, Shannon, Jimmy, Patrick, Hadar,Nick,
Ishaan, Mehr, Katie, Cate, and Zoe.
4. We talked about the Spike Ball tournament which is scheduled to happen May 12th
around noon. Specifically, we discussed creating a google form to allow people to sign
up, advertising, etc..
5. We discussed the Patriots Day Parade and the decoration of the golf cart ahead of time.
The decoration will take place at Arlex Saturday, April 14th, at noon. Those who have
said they are able to help out are Mike, Hadar, Mehr, Deb, and possibly Katie. The parade
itself will take place on Monday, April 16th. As of now, those who have said they are
able to attend are Zoe, Cate, Bess, Hadar, Ganga, Millie, Katie, Mehr, Ishaan, Annika,
Meghan,Nick, Jimmy, Will, Jack, and Patrick.
6. Finally, we talked about the Belmont Car Wash which will be the fundraising event
replacing selling candy. It is set to happen all day September 8th, which will be before
our first meeting of the 2018/19 LYC year.
The next meeting will be Thursday, April 12th 7:00 pm at the Community Center
