• The meeting was called to order at 4:32 by Ms. Roy
• Minutes
• Approval of the minutes of the July 9, 2025 minutes was moved by Bebe and
seconded.
• Approval of the minutes was passed by a unanimous roll call vote.
• Scheduling
• The regular meeting time of the Commission will be moving to the second
Thursday of each month.
• The Commission will be meeting for a group picture to be included in the Annual
Town Report on Monday August 25 at 9 AM in front of the arch.
• Budget Update
• Carolyn Kosnoff presented an update on the status of the 250th budget. There
are still funds remaining available to be spent; while there was initially uncertainty
in the earlier planning processes, the realization of some large donations closer
to the time of events offset some costs.
• The Actual column of the spreadsheet has been adjusted to fully expend grant
funds. There is approximately $287,605 remaining in the Revolving Fund. Two
years after the event, (6/30/27), Revolving Fund remaining balance will revert to
the General Fund. A few remaining invoices are still coming in, which will further
change these numbers.
o There is the potential for a small working group to compile numbers related to
specific categories, in order to better understand expenditures.
• Upcoming Reports Update
o A report is in the works for presentation to the Select Board on August 18,
overviewing Patriots' Day Weekend 2025.
o Pieces are being collected for the Commission's submission to the Annual Town
Report.
• Future Initiatives
o Possible Riding Through History Event Workgroup
■ A small group is needed to work on planning a possible event tying into
the Riding Through History project, including a silent auction of the
horses. Jillian, Paul, and Melanie were identified to constitute this group.
o Community/ Signature Events
■ The Commission will look to highlight one to two events per month being
put on by groups in the community, bringing 250th celebrations forward
through 2025 and 2026.
o Light Up the Arch
■ An event will be held on September 12 at 6:30PM to light the first set of
bulbs on the arch, recognizing the hours submitted to the VO250
program.
• Next meeting: Thursday, September 11, 2025 at 4:30 PM in a hybrid format (physical
location to be determined).
• The meeting was adjourned at 5:44
Respectfully Submitted,
Noah Michelson
