FUND FOR LEXINGTON BOARD
June 23, 2025

of Human Services; Melissa Battite, Recreation Director and Kim Katzenback, Executive Clerk to the Select
Board
1) Money Available
State Street Account as of May 31, 2025
Ending Principal Balance $276,801.71
Ending Income Balance $16,038.27
Total Ending Balance $292,839.98
2) Human Services Report and Requests for Funds
Ms. Bickelman reported the following activity for the Human Services funds dispersed for the period of
February 28, 2025 through June 23, 2025:
• Human Services Emergency Fund 1,235.50 was distributed to residents facing emergencies related to
their rent, utilities, and car repairs.
• Gift Cards - distributed 54 Gift cards for a total of$2,200 - Market Basket/Stop and Shop/Target Gift
cards disbursed this period
• Total of 27 FY2025 Transportation passes and to date 4 FY26 passes
Request for Funds
• Holiday Gift Program
Upon a motion duly made and seconded, by roll call, the Fund for Lexington Board voted 5-0 to approve
$10,000 for the Holiday Gift Program, administered by the Human Services Department, for families in need.
3) Recreation Department Report and Request for funds
Ms. Battite reviewed the Recreation Scholarship Fund report. The Recreation Scholarship Fund is used to
assist children from low-income families to attend Town sponsored summer programs. Recreation
Department thanks the Fund for Lexington for their support.
Request for Funds
Upon a motion duly made and seconded, by roll call, the Fund for Lexington Board voted 5-0 to approve
$17,000 be dispersed from the Fund for Lexington to the recreation scholarship program to assist residents in
need for recreation programming.
4) Other Requests for Funds
• Lexington Police Community Resource Dog Professional Training
Upon a motion duly made and seconded,by roll call, the Fund for Lexington Board voted 5-0 to approve
$2,500 to disperse to the Lexington Police Community Dog Professional donations for dog training.
• East Lexington Flower Barrel Beautification Project
Upon a motion duly made and seconded,by roll call, the Fund for Lexington Board voted 5-0 to approve up to
$5,100 to be dispersed to Wilson Farms for plantings for payment of the East Lexington flower barrels for
2025.
• Beantown Baby Diaper—Supplier of Diapers to Lexington Food Pantry
Upon a motion duly made and seconded,by roll call, the Fund for Lexington Board voted 5-0 to approve to
disperse $2,500 to Beantown Baby Diaper Bank for the provision of diaper supplies to the Lexington Food
Pantry in support of Lexington families in need.
5) Approval of February 24, 2025 Meeting Minutes
On a motion duly made and seconded,by roll call, the Fund for Lexington Board voted 5-0 to approve the
February 24, 2025 Meeting Minutes.
6) Proposed Meeting dates
Mr. Lucente confirmed the following as the upcoming meeting date for Fund for Lexington Board:
