Meeting Highlights VFL Website and report on emails The committee has received general notifications from the Town. There are no other updates on the email. Diversity, Equity, Inclusivity The search is still ongoing for the internal facing DEI role. Staff will continue to provide updates throughout the process and hope to fill the position soon. The position is posted, and Vision for Lexington members can feel free to encourage others to apply. Town Wide Survey Update:The group discussed the possibility of involving high school students in designing and executing the survey. The committee was supportive of the idea as it would be a good way to engage young people, and the high school could incorporate it into the statistics class. Another benefit is that high schoolers could potentially use it for community service credit. The logistics of including people under the age of 18 in the survey are challenging because permission is required from a parent or guardian, or a teacher. If youth are included in the research group, the subcommittee will need to include that as part of the RFP.The working group will research the laws surrounding youth participation and consider the potential partnership with the high school, then report back at the next meeting. Preliminary Schedule:The Vision for Lexington Committee discussed the budget request timeline. The summit is scheduled in January, and the request needs to be submitted before then. The committee thinks that it will likely need more than $50,000 for this request. The working group is unsure how many people may bid because the last survey was associated with a state institution, and municipality contracts with a state institution do not need to go through the RFP process. Abraham will share an example RFP to support the creation of the new RFP.The goal is to write, design, and construct the survey in the spring and summer of 2026.The beta will be completed in early fall 2026 and tested, analyzed, and tweaked in fall 2026.Then, survey administration will occur in February or March 2027.
