HomeMy WebLinkAbout2025-09-11-CAC-min TOWN OF LEXINGTON COMMUNICATIONS ADVISORY COMMITTEE MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF SEPTEMBER 11, 2025 CONDUCTED BY REMOTE PARTICIPATION Members Present: Kenneth Pogran, Chair; Bob Avalone, David Buczkowski, Dorinda Goodman, Steve Kaufman, Sreeni Chippada, Rita Vachani, David Becker, Smita Desai. Members Absent: Shabbir Bagasrawala, Nick Lauriat. Quorum: A quorum of members was present. Others Present: Florence DelSanto (LexMedia). Materials Referenced: Minutes of the meeting of June 24, 2025; CAC Select Board Presentation. 1. Call to order and roll call Ken Pogran called the meeting to order at 6:34 PM and conducted the roll call. 2. Review and VOTE to approve minutes of the June 24 meeting. Approval of minutes was postponed until the next meeting as Shabbir was absent. 3. Service Provider Reports None were present and hence no update. 4. Chairman's Report a. 2025-2026 meeting schedule. October meeting is rescheduled to October 30, 2025. b. Committee reappointments David Buczkowski, Ken Pogran and Rita Vachani were reappointed to the Committee. c. Recording secretary and complaints assignments Ken Pogran will update complaints assignments through 2026 and will also send them to the Select Board. 1 d. Working group assignments Cable Licensing - David Buczkowski, David Becker, Nick Lauriat, Ken Pogran. Need to add one more member. Anyone interested should let Ken Pogran know. LexMedia Oversight- Bob Avalone, Rita Vachani, Smita Desai. PEG Finances —Rita Vachani. Need to add one more member. Anyone interested should let Ken Pogran know. Wireless Services - Steve Kaufman, Dorinda Goodman, Ken Pogran, Shabbir Bagasrawala. e. Committee chairmanship Ken indicated that he would like to step down as Chair at the end of 2025, and any member interested in serving as Chair should let him know. 5. LexMedia update—Florence DelSanto The highlight of summer was activity by kids. They made a movie and were involved in all stages of movie making -from writing, editing, acting, and promoting. The movie was shown to the kids and their parents. The podcast room has been busy and was used for various programs including by a pharmaceutical company for their corporate podcast. LexLocal will be filmed at the Historical Society. The big cooking show will have Persian cooking lessons. 6. Verizon license renewal update Verizon license expires on October 31, 2026. The ascertainment process was completed in June 2025. No members of public were present at the ascertainment hearing on June 24. Three to four emails were received from members of the public. Verizon emphasizes the changes to the license agreement rather than the ascertainment report and the license negotiation process will begin soon. 7. Wireless Working Group Update Steve Kaufman mentioned that Verizon is seeking to install three cell sites in town. The proposal will be presented to the Select Board. 8. Review and VOTE to approve CAC contribution to the Town Annual Report The Committee unanimously approved the CAC contribution to the Town Annual Report. 2 9. IT Update Dorinda Goodman mentioned the plans to migrate town employees to Microsoft 365 subscription, to be renewed annually. 10. Complaints No complaints were received during the summer. 11.
