Drive Green (M. Sandeen)
• Planning an electric car program on November 19 at the Depot. Electric Car owners
will be available to talk and show their cars and local dealers will be invited.
• Mass Energy doesn't have a program for home charging stations yet, but we'll pursue
that they consider one.
Solar Energy Task Force (M. Sandeen)
• The Eversource rate case is looking good—should be able to be grandfathered. We'll
find out in December.
Getting to Net Zero (M. Sandeen)
• November 13 presentation to Board of Selectmen.
• Asking for a public meeting on December 5 or 6.
• Considering a warrant article that the Town should purchase 100%renewable energy
for municipal buildings.
Lexington Energy Challenge (T. Rhodes)
• We are making progress against our Home Energy Assessment goal, but it doesn't
look like we'll be able to reach 100% of the goal. Insulation and Air Sealing are
lagging also.
Garbage (T. Rhodes)
• The Town's residential solid waste collection contract is coming to an end in mid-
2018 and the Town is considering switching to an automated pick-up system that
would also formally allow for single-stream recycling (mixed paper, and plastic,
glass, metal containers.).
• Some residents have expressed concern about the size the containers that would be
required.
Energy Storage (M. Sandeen)
• The committee discussed the observation that school buildings are ideal for solar and
storage and this approach should be considered on school building programs.

• Rick with Dave Pinsonneault to discuss opportunities for the Town to begin using
electric lawn maintenance equipment. Mr. Pinsonneault plans to meet with the head
of Quiet Communities.

spring.
