The meeting was called to order at 10:03 AM. A quorum was not present. Chair Jeri Zeder read the script for
remotely conducted open meetings.
Discussion Final Draft
Fernando is concerned that our message does not emphasize the culture of voting.
The First Recommendation is to form a committee to study voting. Should it be changed to task force?
Consensus was positive.
Recommendation Three included the role of informal communication. Should social media be explicitly
acknowledged?
Recommendation Six is to increase the Town Clerkâs budget to accommodate an increased work load. Should
the Town Clerk be consulted? Jeri will talk to Town Clerk.
Move the references to Town Meeting votes on allowing 16-17 pre-registered voters to vote in municipal
elections and to allow green card holders to vote in municipal elections from footnotes to body of document.
Can Select Board encourage the Civic culture of voting?
The draft report will go to the Vision for Lexington Committee on June27, 2025. Will acknowledge role of
Marian in formatting report Jeri will attend the meeting. The VFL will not be voting at this meeting.
Noon is interested in the topic and writes for the Lex Observer.
Jeri moved adjournment at 10:52 AM.
The next meeting will be August 15, 2025 at 10 AM by Zoom
