Unfinished/New Business: MSBA Enrollment Discussion Letter After the November 12th Massachusetts School Building Authority(MSBA) enrollment discussion, the MSBA followed with this letter. Julie Hackett explained the context and decision-making process regarding not taking the MSBA up on the offer to start over at the eligibility period. This would be costly and time-intensive, plus there is no guarantee that the MSBA would even allow a higher enrollment number. With no guarantees, no financial advantage, and no expansion of the auditorium, gym, or field house even with a higher enrollment number, Lexington responded with this letter. SBC Meeting Schedule The December 9, 2024, School Building Committee Meeting will focus on approving the full preferred schematic report(PSR) and outlining upcoming meetings. Vote: Revise CM at Risk Selection Subcommittee Voting Member Julie Hackett moved to have Brian Black as the CM at Risk Selection Subcommittee Voting Member instead of Lorraine Finnegan (12-0). Public Comment: Dawn McKenna, 9 Hancock Street, asked about making the PSR draft available on the website for public comment. Reflections: Mike Burton: I would not recommend adding the PSR draft to the website until it is approved and voted on by this committee. Hsing Min Sha raises a point about comparing the costs of the North Attleboro project and the Lexington High School project. Mike Burton:Yes,the costs are very similar, and if it were a year earlier than yes, that would be one less year of escalation that they do not have figured into, as we do. Hsing Min Sha: I just want to point out that the Lexington High School project is not the most expensive school in America or even within the state, and this is an example of that. Julie Hackett motioned to adjourn the meeting at 12:20 p.m.Joe Pato seconded the motion. Kathleen Lenihan took a roll call vote, passed 12-0.
