At the annual Town Meeting, held
Monday March 21 1908, George H. Cutter
was elected Assessor for three years, Charles
G. Kauffmann, for two years, and Henry
E. Tuttle for one year.
The board met on the evening of March
11th, and organized by the choice of Charles
G. Kauffmann, as Chairman, and George
H. Cutter, as Clerk.
There being no other business, the board
adjourned.

A meeting of the board was held in Cary
Hall, on saturday evng [evening], Apl 18-1093, on re-
quest of Fred L. Emery, who spoke at length
on the subject of valuation of Real Estate, ex-
pressing his belief, that assessed values
of the land in this town, were much too low.
His remarks were listed to with interest,
and duly considered.
No other business coming bedfore the board,
it adjourned.

A meeting of the Board was held on Saturday
evening Aug 8 - 1908.
Dennis H. Collins Chas. F. Smith, and Robert
H. White (for Elizabeth F. White,) asked for an abatement
on real estate, and the same, after due consideration,
were not granted.
Chas. P. Briggs was granted an abatement
of $30.00 on auto (1500 valuation) Chas. W. Ryder
$20.00 - error on number of horses in 1907, and
Cosmo Caterno $10.30 on personal, overvalued 1907.

evening Sept. 19-1908.
It was voted to abate $8.00 ($400 valuation) on
a house of Gen. F. Tewksbury, on Tewksbury St; $20.00
on Real Estate of Frank P. Reynolds; $10.00 on House
of Chas. S. Clappham; $4.50 on Auto House; $20.00 on auto,
$10.00 on furniture, assessed to Albert C. Warren, all
for 1908. Also $20.60 - on Oakmount Park lots of
John W. Baker for 1907; Fred W. Burgess - Trustee $$33.35
for 1906, and $33.99 for 1907. A. S. Mitchell personal for
1906 -7.70.

A meeting of the Board was held this evening,
for the purpose of hearing applications for
abatements.
Frederick E. Gleason and John L. Norris, asked
for abatement on land and were refused.
Charles Watt was granted an abatement
on house of $7.00.

At a meeting of the Registrar of Voters held
on the evening of Sept. 14th 1909, Mr. Cutter and
Mr. Tuttle were present, of the Assessors, and
Frederick J. Spencer, not having been assessed in
May, was assessed for a poll and so certified
to the Registrars.

A regular meeting of the board was held,
all the members of the board present,
Jany 21st 1911
Jos P. Prince[?] asked for abatement of the tax
on a mortgage of personal property, which
could not be granted, and the same action
was taken on the application of the Trustees of u/w
of Benjamin Shreeve.
George O. Wellington was granted an abatement
of $18.50 real and poll $2.00 - $20.50

At a meeting of the board Mch 6th 1911, it was
voted to abate $18.50 - personal, assessed to the Est.
of Kelsey M. Gilmore, the said tax being on household
furniture, said to have been left by will, to his daughter,
Katie G. Reed. It was then voted to assess
Katie G. Reed, $18.50 personal tax, as provided by
Sect 86 - Chap 12 - Revised Laws 1908.
After a faithful service of 10 years, on our
board, Mr. Charles G. Kauffmann, much to the regret
of the other members, resigned.

At the Annual Town Meeting held Monday
March 6th 1911. Charles H. Bugbee was elected
assessor for two years to fill unexpired term of
Charles G.Kauffmann, he having resigned.
George H. Jackson was elected for three years
in place of George H. Cutter who had served on
the board for ten years, Henry E. Tuttle having
one year more to serve.
The board met on Friday March 17th at 10.30 A.M.
and organized as follows. Charles H. Bugbee Chairman.
Henry C. Tuttle Clerk. The board talked over
matters of business for the coming year and adjourned
Henry E. Tuttle Clerk.
At meeting held March 28th 1911 and called at
10. A.M. all members of the Board were present.
This meeting was called for the purpose of
meeting Mr. Patten from the Tax Commissioners
Office, to talk over matters for the coming year.
Mr. Patten notified the Board by telephone that
he was sick and would be unable to keep his
appointment but would come out Friday March
31st at 2. P.M. Adjourned until the above date.

The adjourned meeting of the board held March 28th 1911,
was called to order by the Chairman Charles I. Bugbee.
March 31st at 2.45 P.M the other two members of the
board George H. Jackson & Henry E. Tuttle being present.
Mr. Patten from the Tax Commissioners Office met
with the board. Mr. Patten decided that the value placed
on the May H. Moulton property by the County Commissioners
for the year 1910 only held for that year, that
the value could be changed for the year 1911 if in the
judgement of the Assessors it was not assessed enough.

On the evening of Sept. 18th 1911. the Registrars of
Voters being in scession Mr. Bugbee and Mr.
Jackson were present and gave cirtificate of residence
to Asa F. Sterling, having been a resident on April
1st 1911. was not assessed for a Poll.
Edward J. Gill paid Poll Tax for 1911 reports his
name is not on the Books.

Assessors as far as it had gone this year.

Monday March 18th 1912 2.45 P.M. for the
organization of the Board of Assessors for the
ensuing year, all members being present.
Henry E. Tuttle having been elected
at the Annual Town Meting held Monday
March 4th 1912 for three years.
Mr Bugbee was elected Chairman and Mr
Tuttle as Clerk for the year 1912.
At 3 o'clock P.M. the Board met Mr
Patten from the Tax Commissioners Office by
special appointment, to look over the Books
for the last year and take up matters of interest
for the coming year. Board remained in session
until 5 o'clock P.M.

present. This meeting was called for the purpose
of taking over the matter of Salaries of the Board
It was the opinion of the entire Board that the
salaries should be and divided as follows.

two members receiving $400.00, per man making a
total for salaries $1300.00. Incidental account $225.00
The Board to appear before the Finance Committee
at their meeting to be held Monday evening Mch 25th
and bring the matter before them for their recommendation
to the town.

This meeting was called for the purpose of
meeting the Committee appointed by the
Moderator by a vote of the Town to look into
the methods used by the Assessors and see if
they could not suggest some new method
which would help them in their work.
Messrs Blodgett, Bugbee & Worthen being
the Committee appointed, were present with
the Board of Assessors, matters were taken up
and looked into quite a little. It was thought
best by the Committee and Assessors both to
look into the Plans offered and at some future
date call another meeting.

Assessors. Mr. Spencer & Mr. Tuttle were the only

East Lexington appeared and asked for reduction
in calculation on her property, the Board took the
matter under consideration. Mr. Hallie C. Blake
was present at this meeting, he appeared in the
intrest of the New Masonic Building as to its
reduction in the valuation placed by the Board of
Assessors. The Board voted to reduce the valuation
to $12,000.00
