Mr. Pato, the Select Board liaison, serving as chair pro-tem called the meeting of the Ad Hoc Crematory
Study Committee II to order at 5:05pm on Monday, August 25, 2025, via a hybrid meeting platform.
Members Joseph Su and Dr Jillian Tung attended remotely,Archan K Basu, Michael P Harris,Jyoti Puri,
and Judith S Zola attended in person. Liaison Anil Ahuja,Appropriation Committee also attended.
1) Review summer sub-group progress
a) Market Conditions & Financials
b) Environmental & Regulatory Reqs
c) Socio-Cultural & Religious Needs
2) Plan September meeting
Target is to produce a report initially for this committee, then to present to the Select Board
with recommendations for how to proceed. Since the committee was created in response to
a request from Town Meeting, the report would eventually be made available to that body.
The committee will use the predecessor committee's report as a model.
Committee members are encouraged to visit Westview Cemetery together to better
understand the current burial practices.
