APRIL 20 , 1994
Members present : Don Chisholm, Chairman, Rick DeAngelis , Sandy
Shaw, Harvey Lowell , COA Liaison Clark Cowen. Staff present:
Maggie Whitesell .
Council on Aging Programs - Maggie shared the three new program
plans for summer: senior tennis league , walking group, and
fitness at Strike One . Clark shared the COA' s interest in a bike
group, a billiards group, and their current golf league .
Center Playground - Harvey shared his concerns regarding the
Center Playground Committee ' s minutes. It is the consensus- of
the Committee that Brian present a plan to Leathers for
consideration and that Maggie acquire a copy of the contract
between the playground committee and Leathers .
Pool Project - Maggie shared that the concrete , marcite , and
plumbing for the ADA requirements will be completed prior to the
pool opening . The electrical work will be completed in the fall
after the pool closes .
Football Field Usage - Nick Santosuosso presented a request that
the Lacrosse team be allowed to play on the football field a
limited schedule of 3 or 4 games a season. The committee agrees .
Don, Maggie , and Brian will get together to discuss further.
Renaming Center 1 - Brian has found a stone . Rick will check the
wording of the plaque with Nick Santosuosso .
Hayes ' Letter - The Committee decided to present a plaque to
Vincent E . Hayes on the occasion of his 80th birthday for his
many years of service to the youth of Lexington.
DPW Transfer - After much discussion regarding the $230 , 000
transfer to the Parks Department for maintenance costs , the
committee will ask Brian to present a further breakdown of costs ,
man hours , and tasks performed as services to the Recreation
Department.
Other Business - Maggie asked for help at Discovery Day selling
tags . Maggie asked for members to attend the Little League
Parade .
Don shared that a fundraiser is planned by the Lincoln Park
Committee for the expansion of the Fitness Path. It will be a
Garden Party/Art Sale June 11th 4 : 00 - 7 : 00 pm. Don shared that
Marge Battin was having a Town Meeting critique on May 11th.
