TRAFFIC SAFETY ADVISORY COMMITTEE
MEMORANDUM
TO: FE-: __ =hall, Chairman DATE: January 8, 1986
Board of Selectmen
FROM: Peter Chalpin, Chairmen SUBJECT: Laconia Street
Traffic Safety Committee Speed Limit
At its Meeting of January 8, 1986, the Traffic Safety Committee discussed the petition from
Laconia Street for lowering the speed limit. Mrs. Whiting did not attend. At present,
under the fundamental speed law, the limit is 30 MPH.
As indicated earlier, from the Woburn Street end to Ridge Road, Laconia Street is
unaccepted, and the Town cannot institute any regulations. From Ridge Road to Lowell
Street, at the East Street end, is accepted. However, the Committee recommends no change in
the current 30 MPH limit.
It is, therefore, unanimously recommended that the request be denied.
