Eddison, Chairman DATE: September 25, 1987 Board of Selectmen FROM: Peter M. Chalpin, Chairman ( SUBJECT: Peachtree Road and Traffic Safety Advisory Commi*/ Appletree Lane At its meeting of September 16, 1987, the Traffic Safety Advisory Committee met with Mrs. Cohen to discuss her request for a "Stop" sign at Peachtree Road and Appletree Lane. Our evaluation of this entire neighborhood revealed that no "Stop" signs are warranted. With respect to this intersection, however, we believe that a channelizing island is in order. As with other "T" intersections in Town, notably Walnut Street/Concord Avenue and Russell Road/Whipple Road, "cutting the corner" is a problem here. Islands have solved this problem in the past, and we recommend installing such an island at this location. Those in Attendance: Peter M. Chalpin Dr. Clarke Mr. Trask Sgt.
