O C i 2 4 1985 TRAFFIC SAFETY ADVISORY COMMITTEE
MEMORANDUM
TO: Paul W. Marshall, Chair:tan DATE: October 23, 1985
Board of Selectmen SUBJECT: %Traffic Committee
FROM: Peter Chalpin, Chairma' air Mass. Avenue & Pelham Road
Traffic Safety Committee
At its Meeting of October 23, 1985, the Traffic Safety Committee met with Mr. James
Pattison, Development Director of the Westbridge School, to discuss the School's con-
cern for students crossing Massachusetts Avenue at Pelham Road. We had met informally
with Mr. Pattison at an earlier meeting.
Based on these discussions, the Westbridge School will be addressing their concerns in-
house, i.e. , faculty will assist the limited number of students crossing Massachusetts
Avenue and the Town need take no action. I have enclosed a letter from Mr. Pattison
outlining the School's precautionary measures.
With respect to the existing signing on Massachusetts Avenue, the Committee believes it
to be adequate and recommends no changes. This intersection can be difficult, but we
feel the Town has done all that is practical and reasonable to alert motorists of this
fact.
