Marshall, Chair'=n DATE: February 22, 1985 Board of Selectmen SUBJECT: Traffic Committee FROM: Peter Chalpin, Chairm- . Grove St. /Robinson Rd. Traffic Safety Committe- 'fes( At its Meeting of February 20 , 1985 , the Traffic Safety Committee met Ms. Nancy Eudiansky , 1 =mar Road, to discuss herrequestfor a solution to the sight distance problem, when exiting from Robinson Road to Grove Street. The Committee explained that Grove Street is posted at 30 m. p. h. and that there is a Stop Sign on Robinson Road. The Committee also stated that we agree with her thatthesight distance is indeed poor. The above notwithstanding, we explained that there is no practical solution to this situation. A ledge cliff to the right, and the guard rail on the bridge to the left are the culprits. Removing the ledge is impractical, and any modification of the bridge is all but impossible. The Committee does feel , however, that installing two signs, "Vehicles Entering Right" and "Vehicles Entering Left" , on Grove Street, approaching Robinson Road, will alert drivers. We unanimously recommed this approach . Those in attendance: Peter M. Chalpin Mr. Trask Mr. Mix Sgt. Hickey PMC:m cc: Walter J. Tonaszuck , Director D.P.W. /Engineering Robert M.
