Traffic Safety Committee School Crossing -

At its meeting of May 18, 1977, the Traffic Safety Committee
discussed the letter from Mr. 8 Mrs. Sitzman regarding a crossing
guard at Hastings Road and Mass. Avenue and completion of the paved
sidewalk on Mass. Avenue between Hastings Road and Jean Road.
The committee was informed that the Police Department is
currently examining the entire crossing guard question as it relates
to the Maria Hastings School , and was assured that the point raised
by the Sitzmans will be included in the examination. The committee
therefore voted not to make a recommendation to the Board until it
hears from the Police Department.
With regard to the sidewalk on Mass. Avenue, the committee was in
favor of its completion and voted to recommend to the Board that the
request be referred to Public Works/Engineering for inclusion in
next years budget.
