The progress of the Traffic Committee as regards the Gleason-Fuller Rd. inter-
section and the CBD improvements (Edison Way, bus stops, taxi stands, light
timing, Douglass parking lot, etc.) depend on studies and counts which must
first be made by the office of the Town Engineer and the priority assigned them
in comparison with other demands for engineering services.
Specifically, as regards the Gleason-Fuller Rd. intersection, the Traffic Com-
mittee several years ago requested a stop sign approval from the state and was
denied. There is no record of any response to a repeated request at that time.
The Committee, as you lcnow, does not believe that `'slow Children'` signs have
any value or are taken any cognizance of by motorists. In the hope that the
changed traffic conditions may now warrant the approval by the state of a 'aStop`°
sign, the Town Engineer will take a new traffic count and submit the results to
state DPW. You may wish to advise the residents through Liz Field, 57 Gleason
Rd. of what has been happening.
