FROM: A. V. Zaleski, Chairman of Traffie Committee

A plan for marking parking stalls in the recently acquired parking area
in rear of 41842 Massachusetts Avenue has been prepared by the office of
the Town Engineer and is being transm.itted to you herewith. The plan
includes other improvements to the lot which can be undertaken if and when
funds and time are available.
Unless I hear from you to the eontrary, the Traffic Committee intends to
discuss the desirability of installing parking meters in this area with
the Chamber of Commerce and the Library prior to submitting any recom-
mendations on that subect.
As you know, the long range plans for a larger interior parking lot in
this block have been given a boost by the cooperation of Mr. Lyon and of
the owners of the Clarke St. medical building. I do not expect the long
range plan to be implemented for the next 3 years, so that in the mean-
time attention should be given to the Douglass lot, as is, apparently,
the wish of the Board of Selectmen.
