The Trarfic Safety Committee is unanimous in the poaition that every
street i Town should ever, tually have a pedestrian walk separate from
vehicular traffic. We do not believe that ehe priority ix the instal-
l.ation of sidewlks can be based or zhe number of houses on a sret.
Priority considerati_ons sho:ld be as follaws:
1. Locations wh,ere the absence of a separate pedetrian way leads ta
ar s apt to lad to accidents.
2. Heavily travelled streets (colZectors and arterials) .
3, Whenever a treet i accepted and huilt by the town (especially,
if it connects to other streets with sideraalk5) y because of a
signi.ficaat saving due t simultaneous construction.
