MEMORANDUM
TO' Allan F. Kenney, Chgirman DATE: 2/8/74 PAGE
Board of Selectmen
FROM• John J . McSweeney, Chairman SUBJECT Grant Street Parking
Traffic Safety Committee
At the request of the Police Department, the Traffic Safety
Committee discussed parking on the Westerly side of Grant Street
between Mass Avenue and the railroad bridge. It was felt that
reducing the restriction in this area, which calls for No Parking
from Mass Avenue 225 feet Northerly, would add much needed parking
spaces. It was therefore voted to recommend to the Board that an
amendment to the Traffic Rules and Orders be adopted to increase
parking on this side of Grant Street. We currently have nine
parking spaces in this area, and will add three spaces with the
adoption of this amendment.
Those in attendance were:
John J . McSweeney, Chairman, Traffic Safety Committee
Chief Corr, Traffic Safety Committee Member
Capt. Lima, Traffic Safety Committee Member
Kenneth Briggs, Traffic Safety Committee Member
Peter M. Chalpin, Traffic Engineer
