MEMORANDUM
To Allan F. Kenney, Chairman DATE. 1214/73 PAGE.
Board of Selectmen
FROM John J. McSweeney, Director SUBJECT' Woburn St. Access to
Green & White Property
Robert Barclay #295
Woburn St.
At its meeting of 11/29/73, the Traffic Safety Committee discussed
Mr. Barclay's request that this access be blocked off to prevent its use
by unauthorised persons. As Mr. Barclay pointed out, there are at least
two other accesses to this property.
After reviewing this with the Chiefs of Police and Fire Departments,
we find that the Police Department does not object to the closing of these
accesses to vehicular traffic. The Fire Department needs access in the
event of brush fires and emergency calls; therefore, the Committee voted
unanimously for the Board of Selectmen to notify Green & White of this com-
plaint and further request the owners to take the necessary steps to abate
this nuisance by chaining this access off or by any other suitable means
that would be in agreement with the Police and Fire Departments.
Those in attendance were:
John J. McSweeney, Chairman Traffic Safety Committee
Chief Corr, Traffic Safety Committee
Kenneth Briggs, Traffic Safety Committee
Peter M. Chalpin, Engineering Department
