McSweeney, Chairman SUBJECT: Mason Street - Traffic Safety Committee x-1 Traffic At its meeting of 7/1/75, the Traffic Safety Committee discussed Mr. Clapp's letter (copy enclosed) regarding traffic on Mason Street. Mr. Clapp's request for "Caution Children" signs was referred to the Engineering Division for review with respect to the appropriate warrants (copy enclosed). It was found that conditions I , 5, and 6 exist on Mason Street. We therefore recommend that one "Caution Children" sign be installed on each end of Mason Street. Also, during the review, a check of the Police Department records revealed that there has been only one pedestrian related accident on Pleasant Street in the last three years. Regarding Mr. Clapp's request for speed zoning on Mason Street, the Committee felt that since Mason Street is covered by the fundamental speed law, i .e. 30 M.P.H., that speed zoning is unnecessary. Those of the Traffic Safety Committee in attendance were: John J.
