Call to Order, Welcome, Council Business & Public Comment a. Review and Approve Our December meeting minutes i. Approved unanimously by all voting members. II. Reviewing School Innovation Plan Progress (Despres: 5 minutes) a. Important to focus on the process of the implementation of the innovation plan. b. Review the innovation plan highlighting from December. Last meeting we discussed dry -running the screeners for reading and math. We started to look at the data to see if this was an accurate screener. We will screen again in February to see if the screener can also track progress. c. The screener directly feeds into the first goal of addressing equity gaps. d. Another highlight is the work with Dr. McLaughlin. She had her second visit to Clarke the day after break, last week. We held another round of staff observations. Her feedback will help inform us about instructional practices that will be culturally relevant and help all students. e. Additionally, the Teacher Ease (grading system)transition has been successful. Approximately 85% of all families have had one caregiver open the gradebook and check on their student progress. f. This past faculty meeting, Monday, January 8th, the faculty discussed opening the gradebook to caregivers and students during the progress reporting timeline of Trimester two. g. Additionally the administration in conjunction with the Equity Team, our Speech and Language Pathologists and Counseling department has worked diligently over the past three months to develop a lesson plan addressing race and culture. That lesson will begin today with Team Apollo and continue team by team for the next three months. We are excited to get feedback from today's lessons. h. Attendance concerns and process for the attendance record at middle school. Parents mentioned that they know elementary schools convey to many caregivers, don't worry about attendance. III. Parent, Staff, and Admin Check -Ins: December in Review (10 -minute limit) a. Parents: i. SEI instructional focus needed for our English learner population. Let's use our SEI training more consistently &* support staff to do so. b. Staff: i. Chronic absenteeism is a problem with certain students. What can be done to support these students? Using CRA process currently & considering the DCF when necessary. 1. What is the discussion at elementary school level? According to one parent, there has been a school that has said that the letter is "not important" or that parents can "just ignore it." c. Admin: III. Beginning Work on `24-'26 School Innovation Plan: 4.2 Innovation Plan: How do we design an inclusive & collaborative process for developing our next innovation plan? a. Next month I intend to get input from different stakeholders and groups. We are dedicated to the two-year approach that DESE requires. This is our second two-year approach. b. What was important coming out of the pandemic? What do we want to get back to that we were doing prior to the pandemic? This year, with input from a variety of groups and stakeholders - important to hear what we can do to approve. c. Introduce the protocol for content for the innovation plan (Keep, Lose, Dream, Innovate Protocol) d. Review what was added to each of the posters. V. Adjournment
