McSweeney, Chairman SUBJECT" Muzzey Street Traffic Traffic Safety Committee At its meeting of 7/1/75, the Traffic Safety Committee discussed Miss Scenna's letter regarding traffic on Muzzey Street (copy enclosed). The Committee would like to address each point individually: I . The Committee feels that traffic signals are not necessary at the intersection of Massachusetts Avenue and Bedford Street. 2. Due to the unavailability of funds, lack of manpower, and the presence of items of greater priority, it is impossible to station police officers at the Lexington Theatre and Minuteman statue. 3. The Committee feels that a "Slow" sign in the Muzzey Street parking lot would be meaningless when geometrics and common sense dictate an absolute maximum speed of 10 M.P.H. 4. The Committee feels that as with the Muzzey Street parking lot, geometrics and common sense would dictate that one proceed slowly on Muzzey Street and in the Center as a whole. Further, those few people who will not heed the obvious, will not heed additional signing. 5. Strict enforcement of all traffic laws is currently underway in the entire Town. In conclusion, the Committee recommends no action on any of Miss Scenna's requests. Those of the Traffic Safety Committee in attendance were: Chief Corr, Member Kenneth Briggs, Member Peter Chalpin, Member PMC/Ift Enclosure cc: Traffic Safety Committee Chief Corr, Police Capt.
