MEMORANDUM
TO Howard M. Kassler, Chairman DATE. 9/28/76 PAGE. 1
Board of Selectmen
FROM John J McSweeney, Chairman SUBJECT' Pleasant Street and
Traffic Safety Committee Worthen Road Sign -
%I,P Mr Neiterman
eI
At its meeting of September 7, 1976, the Traffic Safety Committee
discussed the letter from Mr Neiterman regarding traffic at the inter-
section of Pleasant Street and Worthen Road
The matter was referred to the Engineering Division for review
and it was found that, when exiting from Worthen Road, sight to the
left is limited because of the s lope'up from the roadway of the land
abutting Pleasant Street Conversely, sight to the right, of drivers
on Pleasant Street, is also limited
In order to make drivers on Pleasant Street aware that they are
approaching an intersection, and in order to better control those
exiting from Worthen Road, the Committee recommends the following
1 The installation of a sign on Pleasant Street indicating a
"T" intersection ahead
2 The installation of a "Stop" sign on Worthen Road
