Chalpin, Chairman SUBJECT: Clarke Street & Traffic Safety Advisory Commit- - Park Drive At its meeting of May 10, 1989, the Traffic Safety Advisory Committee met with Mrs. Anne Eccles, Mrs Judy Marshall and Ms. Joan Halverson to discuss conditions in the Clarke Street/Park Drive area. Construction of the new play facility appears to have significantly increased the demand for parking, and the resultant confusion has caused concern. The Committee recommends the following: 1. Installation of a "Stop" sign on Park Drive at Clarke Street; 2. Post "No Parking" for 20' prior to the pathway entrance; 3. Create a "Handicapped Parking" space immediately after the pathway entrance. Enclosed is a report from the Recreation Director illustrating parking activity during three typical days. The report recommends a study to increase capacity and consideration of a permanent parking facility. The Traffic Safety Advisory Committee believes these to be worthy goals, and the Recreation Committee may wish `o include requests in its FY91 budget package. Those in Attendance: Peter M.
