John Zhao called hybrid meeting to order 2:33 PM and took
attendance. Michelle Kelleher recorded and had provided members
w/agenda, March minutes.
Public Comments
Taylor Singh and Kathleen Linehan presented brief overview of
the proposed new Lexington High School: history, design rationale,
estimated cost $652 million. They will plan a meeting for seniors,
preferably at CC during the day, to ask questions, hear plan and
present estimate costs to them..
• On $1.4 million home, est $300
• Start construction 2026, move in 2030

Old Business
Sue Rockwell contacted League of Women Voters, who had not
organized transportation for voters in recent election
• 1-3 requests per election, plus voters from Villages
• COA will revisit later in the year after Resource Fair
o Resource Fair -35 organizations represented for Fair on
5/6
New Business
• Resource Fair 5/6/25 35 3:30-5PM organizations /vendors for
seniors will be at the Community Center with representatives.
COA Board members to arrive at 3 PM to help
• Michelle K has articles in Lexington Times, Sage; she has
name tags for everyone, she will reach out to town leadership
to attend
• Registration recommended, not required

• Trips -Maple syrup 25 went, Cape Ann 5/13
• Health classes in progress, going well
• New little art gallery where people can make, leave, swap art,
will have art day
• 5 OWLL courses, 114 people

Buried in Treasure workshop taught by intern, 12 attended, 30 wait
list, will hire someone in fall to teach

Minuteman Senior Services, Transportation Committee,

New bingo Monday, Wednesday with music and exercise
SHINE reviews Medicare, insurance rules, had large number of
consults averaging 55 minutes
5/24/25 Senior Fair in Marlboro 8AM-2PM with resources, drop
in art, info on aging well, downsizing, free breakfast, other
treats

Mtgs 3x month, invited Planning Board anticipating 400-800
units, have 1,000 applicants; need modified Article 34,
Selectboard needs to decide if Lexington residents get
preference, want to slow process

Federal funding appropriations OK now, future not clear
Section 8 administrator now full time
