HomeMy WebLinkAbout879 Deed, First Congregational Society to Town of Lexington, land known as the Common, February 25, 1847[Stationery branding] Sold by ALLEN & CO. 72 State Street, Boston. Know all Men by these Presents, That I William Chandler Agent for the First Congregational Society in the town of Lexington in the county of Middlesex and Commonwealth of Massachusetts, be fully chosen by said Society the fifteenth of Febry instant to give to the Inhabitants of said Lexington a deed or acquittal of the rights of said First Congr. Society in the Common (so called) In consideration of One Thousand dollars paid by the Inhabitants of said Lexington the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged, do hereby remise, release and forever Quit Claim unto the said Inhabitants of Lexington all the right, title and interest which the said First Congregational Society now have in and to the Common (so called) in said Lexington, except such materials as constituted any part of the Church situated thereon at the time it was burned were served to be taken off by whomsoever may now or hereafter have the legal right so to remove the same To have and to hold the above released premises, to the said Inhabitants of Lexington their successors, and assigns, to their use and behoof forever. And the said William Chandler agent for the said first Congl Society do covenant with the said Inhabitants their successors and assigns, that the premises are, free from all incumbrances made or suffered by said first Congl Society except the materials described above and that the First Congl Society will warrant and defend the same to the said Inhabitants and assigns forever against the lawful claims and demands of all persons claiming by, through, or under said first Congl Society but against none other. In Witness Whereof, I the said William Chandler agent for the First Congl Society in said Lexington have hereunto set my hand and seal this twenty-fifth day of July in the year of our Lord eighteen hundred and forty seven.
