HomeMy WebLinkAbout440 Perambulation between Lexington & Winchester, September 4, 1850Be it remembered that on the 4th day of
September, 1850. The Selectmen of Lexington
and Winchester perambulated the boundary
lines between said towns, and erected
stone monuments where a renewal was
necessary, as follows, viz:
Commencing at a stone monument in the
wall marked W.L.W. being the corner of Woburn
and Winchester, and side line of Lexington, adjoining
the barn-yard of John Winning and about 15
rods southerly of said Winnings house, thence
in an easterly direction about 61 rods to a stone
monument marked L.W. at the east side of said
Winnings wall, thence about 80 rods to a stone
monument marked L.W. at south west side and
near the wall in wood land, thence about 50 rods
to a stone monument marked L.W. on the northerly
side of a Bridleway and westerly of Jonathan Locke's
house, thence in a straight line to a stone monument
marked L.W. on "Locust Hill" so called, thence to
a stone monument marked L.W. on the southerly
side and near the wall being the southeast corner
of Lexington, thence turning and running in a southerly
direction to a stone monument marked L.W. in
land of Asa Locke near a cart path, thence to a
stone monument marked L.WC.W: on the southwest
side of a ledge and near the northwest corner of land formerly
owned by M Locke deceased, being the corner of
Winchester and West Cambridge and side line of Lexington.

Gentlemen
We herewith send you a
Copy of the Perambulation between
Lexington and Winchester.
We would take this occasion to apologize
for none of our number meeting you
on the 22d ult. according to your
request, as your letter was not
received until after the day assigned.
