HomeMy WebLinkAbout437 Perambulation between Lexington & West Cambridge, September 4, 1850The undersigned selectmen of the Towns of West
Cambridge and Lexington agreeably to appointment
made by the Selectmen of Lexington that being the most
ancient town, and proceeded the perambulate the dividing
line between the said Towns of Lexington & West Cambridge
as follows to wit, Commencing at the stone monument
on the line of the town of Lexington and at the corner
of the towns of Waltham & West Cambridge marked L.W.
& W.C. standing, in the meadow by the brook southerly
of the house of Phinehas Lawrance on the southerly side
of the road formerly the Cambridge & Concord Turnpike
thence to a stone post marked L.W.C. in said Lawrances
land near the top of the hill in a northerly direction, thence
continuing north to a stone post on land formerly belonging
to the late Leanard [Leonard] Green deceased, standing on the north
side of the road leading past said Greens house, thence to
a stone post on land formerly said Greens near the Bowman
place, thence to a stone post on land formerly said Greens,
thence to a stone post marked L.W.C. standing on the north
side of the road leading from Lexington to Boston near the
bridge below the house of the late Micajah Locke, thence
to a stone post marked L.W.C. on the north side of the
old road below the house of Joseph Dickson, thence to a
stone post on the north side of the late Middlesex Turnpike
thence to a stone post on land of Reuben Reed on the north
side of the hill a short distance from the wall, thence
across the hollow to a stone post marked L.W.C.W.
being the dividing line between Lexington and West Cambridge
and the corner of West Cambridge and Winchester said post
stands on land formerly belonging to the late Micajah Locke
deceased on the southwest side of a ledge at the top of a hill
and near the northwest corner of said Lockes land.
The above lines were perambulated September 4th 1850
