HomeMy WebLinkAbout419 Report on the bounds between Lexington & Burlington, November 19, 1860Nov 19 1860 Charles Hudson and William Henry Smith Selectmen of Lexington and John Wood duly authorised to act for the Selectmen of Burlington met near the House of Marshall Locke in Lexington at 9 O'clock AM. and proceeded to examine the bounds between the Towns of Lexington & Burlington. They found a stone Monument standing North Easterly of Marshall Lock's, and some 25 rods from a large oak tree standing on the road leading from said Locke to Nathan Blanchard in Burlington and marked L.B.W. And being the corner of the Towns of Lexington, Burlington & Woburn; thence to a Monument standing near the county road near the old Mill site lately known as Randall's Mill, marked L.B. thence to a Monument standing near the road and nearly east of the octagan [octagon] house erected by James Wyman, marked L.B. thence to a monument to a Monument by the side of the road North of the old Gibbs house; thence to a Monument in the pasture near North Street in Lexington; thence to Monument near Amos Angers thence to a Monument on Bull Meadow Hill, all marked LB. thence a Monument near the house of Daniel Cummings in Lexington; this stone is not a split stone, but a long field stone standing on end, and marked L.B.B. being the point where the towns of Lexington, Burlington, and Bedford corner. These Monuments are all in good order and duly marked. The Monuments North of the Gibbs House, thence of Bull Meadows Hill are intermediate bounds and do not mark any angle in the line.
