HomeMy WebLinkAbout409 Perambulation between Lexington & Winchester, November 20, 1865Agreeably to notice given to the town of Winchester by the town of Lexington, to meet at the house formerly occupied by John Winning in Woburn on the 20th day of Nov A.D. 1865 for the purpose of perambulating and running the lines between the said towns and renewing the marks and bounds. We the subscribers having met at the above line and place for the purposes aforesaid, make the following return of our doings. Beginning at a Monument standing in a wall some 5 rods south of said Winnings barn, marked L.W.W. that being the point at which the towns of Winchester and Woburn corner on Lexington line:- Thence southerly to a monument at the corner of a field by a wall. Thence in the same direction by said wall to a monument, Thence to a monument by an old travelled way, thence across a ravine to a monument in open land on a hill all of the last named bounds are marked L.W. Thence to a monument marked L.W.W.C No 11, 1865 being a corner of Lexington thence S.W. to a monument marked W.C. L Thence to a monument standing on a ledge braced with iron, marked WC, L.W. being a corner of Winchester and West Cambridge, all of the above named bounds are in good condition I witness whereof we have hereunto set our hands this 20th day of Nov 1865 Hammon Reed Alonzo Goddard } Selectmen of Lexington Samuel.
