Lexington Youth Commission
Minutes of the meeting held on Thursday, February 8,^, 2018
Members Present: Will Thomas, Jack Mitchell, Bess Lawrence, Lucas DiCerbo, Anthony
Marbardy, Charles Marbardy,Nicholas Newton-Chen, Courtney Campbell, Mehr Khurana,
Ishaan Khurana, Annika Richter, Hadar Boker, Emma Donigan, Patrick Kridarahkorn, Myles
Cutler, Jimmy Lane, Cate Swan, Zoe Toulmin, Meghan Buschini, Rachel Harvey,Nachiyappan
Solaiyappan, Karen Duperey, James Athens, Shannon De Guglielmo, Deb Hankins, Avery
Gehring, and Katherine Gehring.
Members Absent: Sean Maloney, Joe Hankins, Kristina Hankins, Courtney Walsh, Annie
Reilly, Venuri DeSilva, Ganga Nair, Millie Landis, Maria Schapfel, Michael Swift, Erin Cesmeli,
Katie Devine, and Rebecca Wilkinson.
1. The January minutes were read and approved.
2. We debriefed the Cradles to Crayons trip, we made enough book packets for 120
children. Overall it was a success and something we should do in the future, we talked
about the possibility of Martin Luther King Day as a good time for next year.
3. Next we discussed the Senior's Valentine's Day Luncheon. The luncheon will be at the
Community Center Dining Room, this Thursday, February 15" at 11:45. We will meet in
the quad around 11:20 am. We will be done by 12:45 — 1:00. Those who've said they can
go and drive are Cate, Meghan, Jimmy, Nick, Hadar, Will, and Jack. And those who've
said they are able to attend are Bess, Patrick, Zoe, Rachel, Anthony, Charles, Myles,
Annika, Katherine, Lucas, Nachi, Ishaan, and Emma. If your availability changes,please
notify your team leader.
4. We discussed the Cotting School Book Drive in preparation for our joint project.
Katherine, Avery, Emma, and Hadar have volunteered to make and decorate the book
drive boxes. The book drive will run for the month of March. Boxes should be ready by
March 1 st, and we will run until April 6th. Patrick will work on advertising in the
Colonial Times and Minuteman. The current date for the joint volunteer project with the
Cotting School is April 13th.
5. We handed out applications for LYC 2018/19. We have 12 seniors graduating, so we will
have 9 open spots to fill.
6. We introduced the new LYC 2018/2019 Board.
7. We collected outstanding M due.
8. Finally, Myles discussed the possibility of a Spike Ball Tournament to fundraise and
replace our Candy Drive.
The next meeting will be Thursday, March 8th 7:00 pm at the Community Center
