Peggy Enders (Bike Committee)
• Dave Pinsonneault gave the DPW update. Eversource has been contacted regarding the
three lights that are out on Mass Ave. The parklett is down. DPW has new electric
blowers and mowers for upkeep in the center, and these should decrease noise.
Joint Meeting with PMG: Dave Kucharsky noted that the Depot lot striping will be
reviewed after July, 2018. Peggy Enders discussed the water draining off the Whipple
Building, and to some extent the Depot Building, onto the Minuteman Bikeway creating
puddles and big icy areas in the winter. She's had difficulty getting a response from the
owner and the management. Mike noted that there we should tell them there may be
liability if there is an injury and Pam L. noted that Lexington by-laws forbid this as
well. Chief Corr gave an overview of changes related to the new parking scheme and
parking meters. Revenue has doubled in the past year; there is less need for
enforcement at the meters, and negative interactions have decreased. The increased
revenue has more than covered the increase in expenses. Center employees are no
longer parking in the desirable core parking spaces.
• Melisa noted that Town Meeting approved$150K for additional design funds for the
Visitors Center. EDD is seeking a capital grant from the Mass Cultural Facilities Fund.
The Bike Share was launched in October. Peggy asked whether information about bike
safety and sharing the road could go out in the spring tax bill. She also proposed
partnering with the EDO and the Center Committee to get more bike information out.

• Fred noted that the Wine Gallery has opened in the Center. The Chamber of Commerce is
holding its annual gala in Cary Hall in January.
• Peggy told us that the 25th anniversary of the bike path is next year. She would like to
partner with the Center Committee and others to plan, along with Arlington and Bedford,
a commemorative event in the center.
• The Center Committee voted 6-0 to approve the minutes for the September and
October, 2017 meeting.
