It is understood that certain classes of the more experienced labor merit recognition in setting ' age stenderds. It is therefore recom.meneed that the follo-•ine scale of hourly rates be paid to employees in such dee:.rtr:ents as Park & moth, Public Works, Cemetery, rater and Sewer Departments. Laborers 55: to 65f per hour Equipment :rad Compressor operator 60 to 70e p c r ::our Truck Drivers 600 to 7O. per hour Torn Painter 68f to 75f per hour Foremen 65* to 75e per hour Dynamite men, stet:.'::-oller operator and Gas shovel operators $1.00 per hour Occasions arise where it becomes imperative to increase a clericel salary, or it becomes desirable to employ an experienced clerk at a rate above the einimum. In such cases the Board having jurisdiction, or elected officials not under the Jurisdiction of a .uoard., shell submit the facts to the aeeroprietions committee end re(.uest a transfer frog: the reserve fund to cover the needed salary increase in the first case, or an amount to cover the ei fference bet'een the min rum and the higher rate in the second case. The Committee hopes that this provision of the re-ort e ll not be exer- cisee except in 'ver`: re^^ote cases. All departments shall keep a record of actual tine em- ployees ere absent from rork due to sickness, accident, et cetera, and a ::onthly report cover'_ng said absence shsll be submitted to the responsible departrent head or board heving jur ieeiction. In cases ''here the present incumbent ie receiving a higher salare or vraee then the maximum set by this resort for the eo sition, no reduction in the salary or -age of such incumbent is reconnended. The remuneration of all to-"n employees listed on the attached sheet shall be adjusted accorc'.i r gly as of April 1, 1942. Subsecuent annual increases shall become effective as of April 1 each year.
