HomeMy WebLinkAbout2025-02-26-COA-min (Age Friendly Working Group) MINUTES FOR AFE FRIENDLY WORKING GROUP TH FEBRUARY 26, 2025 VIA ZOOM PRESENT; Michelle Kelleher, Dana Bickelman, John Zhao, Julie-Ann Shapiro, Bonnie Teitleman, and Ellen Cameron Minutes will be approved next meeting NEW BUSINESS: Jeff St. Peters from Oakley Home Access wanted to introduce himself and tell us about his company services for Seniors. 2025 AGE FRIENDLY INIATIVES: Started the conversation regarding which domains (8 and now 6)we need to focus on and make action plans for. Select Board presentation brought up how we can Help Dana and Michelle and tax referral for Seniors. John mentioned housing and the HPB, Sudhir regarding parking and driving. Julie mentioned more meet and greets in the future – also will focus on Communication. We had an outline from our 2019 UMass study and now will revisit this and go forward. Michelle brought up the Select Board wants someone to do a Senior tax relief ambassador program. AGE IN PLACE RESOURCE FAIR: Michelle sent out many invites to town offices etc. We are getting great feedback. Dana will check with Town Managers office and town council about conflict-of-interest law with a possible vendor. Lions club is not coming. Transportation has a conflict but trying to work it out time wise. We review the list of potential vendors and services etc. Discussed adding Heart to move meals, food pantry and maybe legal services. Total of 35 groups right now. Will need to ask for volunteers on the COA board for help. Meeting adjourned 4:01pm Respectfully Submitted, Ellen Cameron
