Ms. Lisa Colagiovanni, Faculty Rep Agenda Notes Welcome to everyone a Not present - Rahnuma Wahid Approval of minutes from a October minutes approved unanimously October 24, 2024 found HERE School Wide Updates from Jackie a Paul Cuzuppe, head custodian, retired; new Daley and Rory O'Connor and Teachers head custodian will start 12/16/24 e Jackie - will add section to weekly update to Boston School Committee Meeting share news from Hawks Council (student council committees) METCO Updates: Social worker, a Julie - 4th grade EMK field trip where they professional development and METCO 2.0 learned about the immigration process e Rory - Hawks Council Tech Team's "HAWKS Talk" podcast launched first episode and next one will focus on literacy e Liz - 5th grade writers will share personal narratives by recording themselves reading, sharing on Padlet with classmates e Booster Glow Run - more "asks" of teachers and PTA than originally expected; scaled back, which might have had an impact on amount of New business: Future Dates: January 3, 2024 JOY IN LEARNING CELEBRATION- Thursday, February 27 money raised; getting volunteers is difficult; kids had fun at the Glow Run, and differentiated options were available • Rory- METCO Updates o Social Worker: Cheryl Crowder will be with us until March; working on hiring a new social worker o Boston School Committee Meeting: held last week in Boston; focus was on redefining success ■ high-stakes tests balanced with student engagement/voice ■ closing the achievement gap for black and brown students ■ examining culturally responsive teaching o METCO 2.0: ■ Relaunch of the program ■ Questions about after school enrichment opportunities for METCO students and community connections; logistics with transportation, length of day • Discussion about student goal setting and explaining what students need to be working towards; they are part of the planning • Enhancing family connections to strengthen home/school connections • Joy in Learning Celebration - o Somewhat open-ended in terms of what it can look like o What are some ideas that we would like to highlight? ■ New curriculum, aspects unique to our community, Understanding Our Differences, DEI lessons o Figure out a structure for visitors • Motion to adjourn, unanimously approved at 9:35
